Shopping
I tell you why teachers will never be rich.
Yes they do receive a steady income.
Yes they do get bonuses from the government now n then.
And yes they do not need to spend alot on clothes, food and etc.
Yes they get special rates for HDB etc........
However, we are such a deprived bunch, we become unrestrained and uninhabited during the holidays. Our schools are situated in god forsaken areas where the most expensive kinds of food are wrapped in cheery yellow paper or brown cardboard boxes. For the discerned shopper, there is always the bookshop with the friendly auntie talking to you in Hokkien. After 10 weeks of eating bland canteen food and buying mechanical pencil lead, we become, how should I put it, ravenous. Hungry for the lastest fashion, gadgets, food and movies, we scour the island (or rather just Orchard Road) for things that will make us feel that yes we belong to this civilisation.
Actually I was inspired to type this post after reading Croxxy's GGS spree list. She said that her list was for the month. Mine was for the past 5 days.....

- Nike shorts
- Nike sports bra
- 2 pairs of Nike socks (one pink and one striped)
- 1 adidas shorts
- Marks & Spencer undies

- Mizuno jersey
- Haircut
I think I'm going crazy and Hong Kong is coming soon. Two words....SIAO LIAO!
